Chinese Cuisine
The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.
Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.
There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.

My wife and I moved in almost directly behind Oriental Forrest and were very excited as we love Chinese Buffets. Our first experience was lack luster at best. Walked in to a relatively empty resteraunt (Friday afternoon at about 6:00pm) and the first thing we noticed was a rediculous amount of debris on the floor. The staff were standing around the service station playing on their phones paying no heed to the mess. The hostess sat us down and took our drink orders. My wife and I then went up to get our food. None of it looked terribly appitizing as it appeared like it had been in the serving trays for quite some time. When we sat down to eat much to our amazement our food...all of it was ice cold. We finished and paid our bill. We decided to give it one more try a month later understanding everyone could have an off day. WRONG!!! Same EXACT scenario. This time we got our food, it was cold and without eating complained. I was met with a befudled look and an offer to "warm it up". I said I just wanted to leave and with a huff she threw her hands in the air and said "go and don't come back". No worries.....we won't

If I could rate less than 1 star I would. Food was barely warm, meat was fatty. Won't return.

We went there for lunch and we had a very good experience. The waiter was very attentive he asked us to fill up our drinks frequently and he took our dirty dishes off of the table, the service was great. The food was better than most of the Chinese buffet restaurants and I have been to. most restaurants do not put out food regularly you'll have a couple dishes that are empty here and there were as at this place they had it filled up all the time and the food was warm to hot mostly hot. we will definitely be going back

I've passed by this place several times the past year and I finally decided to give it a shot since i was in the mood for Chinese food. I've been to quite a few buffets in my day but this is one I will keep off my list. The food was old, the stuff that was replenished was mediocre at best. The dessert bar was basic enough for me to skip the whole thing. Pretty weak for a big Chinese buffet joint. Disappointed.

I went there for lunch with a co-worker because she wanted to compare it to the one that she goes to in Waterford. I had been there a few times back in the 2000s but hadn't been there since. There were people going in so we decided to give it a try (big mistake). The staff was friendly when we arrived and we were seated promptly. The place has seen it's better days but most Chinese restaurants are this way. There was a TV to watch the news though. The food was hit or miss. Some dishes tasted okay but others just were bad. The worst thing about it was that the food was lukewarm to cold. My co-worker looked at some of the trays expecting to see some steam coming off of some of the tables but no such luck. There was a gentleman periodically going around stirring up the dishes but I don't know why. The food was cold. The Hot and Sour soup was just warm and tasted bad. The Wonton soup was warm but the little chips that you put in the soup were stale. The desserts were the run of the mill thawed desserts that all Chinese buffets use. My co-worker went to get some ice cream but decided against it once she saw all of the ice that had formed on top of it, freezer burn. We went in expecting to be stuffed but left hoping that our stomachs would forgive us. We will not be returning.

Please don't ever ever go here. A few years ago I used to go here weekly with my family and it was actually pretty good and a fun place to be. Now everything is torn up and gross. The waiters are so mean and rude. The food was so nasty and rubbery that I actually left hungry yet wanted to puke from such a bad experience with the food. The sushi was something I never wish I encountered. I don't remember good thing about my visit, except for leaving. Not even the vegetarian stuff was edible. It was all very proccessed, fatty, unhealthy and fake.

By far the worst food I've ever had in my life. This place is gross, and way over priced. Don't waste your time. All the workers were nice. Best thing that could happen is if somehow the place burns down overnight. Health inspectors should make a suprise trip here. This is the only chinese buffet in the area, if they change the carpet, replace the tile in the serving area and provide better food they would have more customers...surprise.

Yuck! Greasy, grimy, dirty. When it comes to Chinese buffets I don't care about the decor, if the seat cushions are torn, if the tables are worn, or if your server's grumpy. All that matters is the food is fresh, there's a good selection, the stations are well stocked, the surfaces are free of debris, and all the tongs and ladles are clean and not sticky and grimy. This place is deficient in pretty much every category except selection - which is ok. I don't want to feel dirty after using the food tongs and I want the food fresh so its not all dried out or soggy. The bottom line: This place is dirty, tired, and not well stocked. Needs a major overhaul.

NOOOO! I am surprised it's still open. It has potential after a lot of renovating but the food still needs to be dealt with. You couldn't pay me to go back there. Yucky.

They have a huge selection but not the best quality. workers are extremely nice. It its also very cheap, around $ 8 for lunch and $ 12 for dinner (doesn't include drink).

Oriental Forest Buffet used to be quite good. Its quality has sharply declined, however, leaving much to be desired. The seats of the booths are falling apart, the food varies in quality from good to make-you-sick bad. The worst kind of sea food is the kind that tastes like it was fished from a local pond, and at least half of the sushi I tried here tasted that way. Alas, the Auburn Hills area continues to lack a quality Chinese buffet.

It's only good if you're under the influence and looking for a fat plate of food.

I agree with John, this restaurant has a well-used look and feel, like most Chinese buffets end up to be. It could be cleaner and a face lift wouldn't hurt. That said, the food is fresh and best of all, they're fast to replace the nice variety of tasty foods offered. Even the crab legs were quick to come out, but sadly I was third person in line after them been just replenished and ended up with a few measly skinny legs - people hmmph! get a grip. We're going back tonight for our second time and I can taste it already... definitely worth a try if you're not looking for fine dining.

Most of these reviews are old. Stay away!!! Stinky place, rude management, and old food. They don't freshen their buffet. They keep the same food from the previous day. We came in and left after 5min the manager refused to discount the bill. We paid 60 dollars and left.

I work right across the street from this place so I end up eating there a lot because it's cheap and it's an easy place to hang out with coworkers. It's not really anything to shout about but I will say that I have eaten there a dozen times and unlike many Chinese Buffet's I have been to I have never gotten sick from their food. The service is lax and the decor is a little over the top but the food tastes pretty good and as I said it's fairly cheap. Some general tips... - never, under any circumstances, eat the mussel. This is how I avoid getting sick. - although they do serve fried chicken and chicken nuggets, this is a Chinese restaurant. Come on. - on the other hand the Texas Toast is actually pretty good.

You know what you're getting when you go to a Chinese buffet. A lot of mullets, a lot of koolaid moustached kids, and some Chinese American favorites. The surprise at this buffet is the different dim sum options they'll have. There are usually at least 6 different dumplings to choose from at a given time. The normal buffet fair is what you would expect, but everything here was pretty good. They had sushi as well, but I like sushi too much to try it at a buffet.

DO NOT EAT HERE ! This is the WORST experience I have ever had at a restaurant. I went in hungry and left feeling nauseated, and still hungry. The food was disgusting and the price was ridiculous! There were flies EVERYWHERE, to the point where my brother and I could not even begin to enjoy the disgusting food since we were swatting flies out of our faces. I even had to complain that there was a dead fly in the soup! DISGUSTING and unacceptable! I bet the health department would not let this mess pass with a D. After trying almost everything that looked edible and not enjoying anything, we decided to go somewhere else to eat. I got the bill which was $25 for two people for only the buffet. I complained to the manager about my crappy experience and refused to dish out $25 dollars for the stomach ache. She rudely argued with me and said that we should not have stayed for an hour when we didn't enjoy the food. I told her we were only there for 15 minutes, maybe 30 at most. She continuously called me a lier. What kind of customer service is that?! i would NEVER recommended this crap hole to anyone, not even an enemy. Never eat here!

The food was fair at best. The sushi nigiri was dry and the roll-slices were bland. The dim-sum seemed waterlogged - read tasteless - but they had a bunch, both savory ad sweet. the egg-drop soup was tasty enough and I did have seconds of the Chicken with broccolli - mainly because nothing else was palatable and i dont eat pork. The staff were vacant - they only took plates when i was gone, and i did not get refills on my water until I was ready to leave. I might have given a better rating if the price was lower - $12 seems a bit high for bland and dried out foods.

When you try a large portion of things on the buffet, and you don't finish anything because it leaves you feeling sick, I would say 12.99 for adults and 8.99 for children is a bit much to charge, don't you think?

I love the fountain when you walk in, my family an I were seated immediately. It was clean throughout the restaurant, but when I got to the bathroom it reaked of urine!! Gross. Besides that I would come again it was a nice selection for my wife & daughter.

Well used to go there a lot when they first opened and last time I went there was last year ,but yesterday I decided to try them since they a are the closest buffet place from where I live but what a mistake it was very disappointed and will never go back . Quality of food is poor "0" and staff is horrible they don't speak English so very hard to order drinks like water and Pepsi and restroom was very dirty and had a bad odder I had to wash my hands that's all wouldn't use it .

Wish they had a 2-1/2 star rating ... while it was A-Ok, I've also had better. Stopped in for lunch on a trip to GLC and got what I was expecting. Decent selection and quality of items out, they had a few different/interesting choices like the Mongolian Beef w/vegetables, a similar chicken dish, fried squids and a pretty decent dim sum table, except several baskets were kept empty. Food temps weren't that great on a couple dishes & seemed like the steam tables could have been set a bit higher, but maybe it's just me. Absolutely did not like the concept of ordering hot tea and being brought a single cup vs a small pot of tea. As expected, it was a chore getting a refill. Not a deal breaker, just annoying as heck.
